Yesterday I was Dirty

Fri Aug 3, 2007, 7:25 AM
I'm going and going. It's true. It's making me tired. Of course, I'm not even facing the direction I'm going and that makes it a lot harder. Also, I get distracted when I'm going. It's like... Running with your head turned to the right, looking at a one bug eating another and suddenly feeling very large. The new awareness of your size makes you worry about running into something like a tree branch with your unprotected forehead (in this metaphor you are not a ninja, so your forehead remains bare). Just thinking about something like that is exhausting, and doing it even more so.

Of course you aren't so large as you think; right? You stay the same size, and it will be your knees that are going to get hit, maybe a rock or small child playing in the way. Everyone knows a good whack in the knee can trip you into the dirt... Getting dirty isn't so bad though.

Another thing that distracts you when you are going and going is another path. You see it across a field or through a lightly wooded area and think that maybe that path would be nicer to run on, maybe it's paved even, and you know how much nicer that would be. Who knows, that path could even be lined with candy or lead to a magical world of faeries and the undead. You've been running on your current path so long, even if it were nicer, it's not worth going back and starting the candied undead one now.

I suppose the best option for going and going is to face the direction you're going so quickly in. It would make it easier, and maybe you'd know where you going to end up when your done going? I can seem to run with my face forward. I'm not so athletic either, and I walk sometimes, but the running still makes me tired.

Maybe I have ADD?
